About
We built this because we wanted one ourselves.
Encrypted Energy's run by a small group of independent developers. We don't take outside funding. We picked GPL-3.0 because the software runs on your hardware on your network, and you should be able to read every line of it.
Open Bluetooth® networks are genuinely interesting infrastructure: asset trackers, environmental sensors, and beacon fleets that need ground coverage no roaming phone was ever going to fully provide. Encrypted Energy is an open gateway layer for them. Self-hosted hardware on residential and small-business networks, scanning BLE packets and routing them up to whichever network owns the device. Hubble Network was the first customer to plug in. More are in the pipeline.
That's the whole pitch. It runs on your closet hardware, costs nothing, the source is public, and your packets get where they're going.
Who we are.
Day-to-day, Encrypted Energy's run by John Marbach with help from a rotating bench of contributors at the gateway repository.
